Dental Veneers in Glastonbury, CT

When people want brighter teeth, we start with teeth whitening here at Steven F. Hinchey, DMD in Glastonbury, CT. Unfortunately, not all people respond to teeth whitening the same. People with lightly stained teeth will achieve the best results. Does that mean everyone else is condemned to live with dark or stained teeth?

The answer is no. At Steven F. Hinchey, DMD, we can set you up with veneers to change the way your teeth look. They’re a great and simple way of improving smiles. With veneers, you’ll have the confidence to take on the world with your bright smile.

How do dental veneers work?

You might be wondering what veneers are and how they work if you’ve never seen them before. Veneers are thin shells that we stick to teeth to make them look better. They’re attached to the front surfaces of teeth. Before a veneer can be applied, we need to remove about 0.5mm of the front surface of the tooth. This effect is permanent.

We’ll then apply the veneer to the front of the tooth. Veneers aren’t just good for hiding stained teeth, but also for hiding crooked and chipped teeth. It’s like a new and perfect surface added to a tooth to make it look better. Once the veneer is placed, we’ll adjust it, so it doesn’t affect your bite. If you feel any irregularities, let us know, and we’ll take care of them. Patients stop being aware of their veneers within a couple of days.

Are Dental Veneers Removable?

Veneers aren’t removable. They’re permanently placed on teeth and can only be removed at the dentist’s office near you or if they break. Some patients are under the misconception that veneers can be removed and put back on at will. Veneers last about 5 to 10 years. If you take good care of them, they can last a long time before they need to be replaced.

Living with teeth that are dark or don’t look right can take a toll on a person’s confidence. When teeth whitening fails, veneers come to the rescue to make your smile look the way you want it to.
